22nd February 2003 Windsurfing: borth Wind Direction: ene Wind Stength: upto 35 mph Surf / Sea State: choppy Air Temperature: 9 Sea Temperature: cold Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: it still gets a four rating even with me accident totally maxed out on 5m at times some lovely chop hops and gun runs the more i use my goya the faster it seems to get (well good) accident went in to a jibe flat out as i came round to swop feet my board hit a sand bank leg slide off the board hit the sand then the board hit it. shit it hurt didnt know if i should laugh or cry manage to walk out of the water with my kit to the beach then just lay on my board in pain. alan and another lad helped me back to my van , we cut my boot off . shit it was a bit swollen. after about half an hour managed to get my wet suit off and got changed. steve and alan derigged my kit and put it in the van . i sat in driver seat and put my foot down on the clutch just managed to push it down enough to change gear so i set off home i think i cryed most of the way home in pain. got as far as telford and couldnt drive any more so tory (wife) came over with a frend and drove the van back the rest of the way. got to the hospital and had my ankle xrayed not good news ive ripped the ligaments off my anke and also fractured of bone. so im now in plaster for ten 10days then ive got to go back hospital. id like to thank every one for the help yesterday got very pissed last night to take away the pain (got a bad head this morning as well. but it was still a very good day its unreal how the winds does what it does there no wind 5 mile inland 40 mph on the beach. im going back to bed now it still hurts. hopefully ill be back on the water as soon as i can. you watch every weekend will be windy now until ive recovered. |
